In this page you will find a huge selection on new and remanufactured carburators for most makes and models at the lowest prices, from the best brands like: Edelbrock carburators, Holley carburators, Weber carburators, Carter carburators,Hitachi, KB, Garrett among others, most makes and models including Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford, Nissan, Toyota, GMC, Pontiac etc.
The use of carburators has declined since the invention of fuel injection, for the most part, carburators are now used in race cars like stock cars, Dragsters and so forth, Brands like Edelbrock and Holley dominate the aftermarket carburator industry for racing purposes and for daily driven vehicles, Edelbrock carburators are the most friendly when converting a 1980's vehicle that came equipped with a feed back carburator to a non emissions carburator aplication, Edelbrock supplies an adapter plate for the spread bore design like quadrajets to accomodate the use of their square bore design , Edelbrock also makes the kick down cable adapter for vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission that requires the use of a kick down cable to down shift to a lower gear like a turbo 350 transmission.
Holley carburators also carries adapters to replace a feedback carburator with one of their popular 600cfm and 750 cfm units, Holley carburators are more popular in the race track than on the street, and the main reason is because they offer an unique advantage over most carburator brands and that is the ability to replace the metering jets and power valve without removing the carburator from the vehicle, all you have to do is remove the four screws that hold the fuel bowl in place and you have complete access to the metering jets and the adapter plate, this unique design has made holley carburators the leader in racing applications, it allows the mechanics to tune the carburator in minutes for every race track conditions. The only disadvantage holley carburators have compared lets say with Edelbrock carburators is that most older holley carburators suffer from power valve blow offs under severe engine backfire.
Both brands Holley and Edelbrock offer new and remanufactured carburators, often referred to as "rebuilt carburators", but Holley and Edelbrock are not the only brands available, other carburator manufacturers like Weber, Garrett, Hitachi, KB, Carter and many others provide new and remanufactured carburators, even carburator kits if you wat to rebuild the carburator yourself, Weber carburators are often used in European vehicles like Volkswagens, they are also common in motorcycles, weber carburators have a good history in racing aplications also, Hitachi carburators are often used in Japanese vehicles like Nissans and Toyotas, most of the time it is better to replace a tired carburator with a similar unit and the main reason is that every engine has its own specific parameters, and each carburator has been tuned to match the engine needs in your car or truck, replacing it with a different brand or design will involve some tunning on your part.
